Here’s what to expect during our time together:

01 Initial Assessment

Your first appointment is a 75-minute, comprehensive deep-dive into YOU. We will review recent labs and discuss your health history, health goals, current nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle habits, and your mindset surrounding healing and regaining your health. We break down your symptoms and talk about how your symptoms are your body’s way of telling you something is imbalanced. This is the time to dig deep and allow us to get to know who you are as an individual so we are able to turn around and provide you a healing protocol that fits your unique needs.

02 Back to Basics

After your initial assessment, we’ll work on ordering the blood work and functional lab testing we think is going to give us the most helpful information to reach your goals. The labs and tests we choose to order are different for each patient and are determined by our conversation during your first appointment, your finances, and your health history.

In the meantime, we’ll makes sure you’re nailing down the basics. We’ll focus on mindset, sleep, stress management & nervous system regulation, blood sugar regulation, eating hygiene, and laying down the foundations of nutrition. Many root causes of the symptoms you are currently experiencing will be able to be traced back your daily thoughts and actions. In order for us to prevent illness and unwanted symptoms from emerging again in the future, we must make sure we have a solid foundation. We can often make significant changes in our health by starting here before we jump into any protocols or supplements.

03 Root-cause Reveal

Once you’ve got the basics down, it’s time for the more advanced stuff. Our first follow-up appointment will take you through all of the blood work and functional lab testing you completed. No more glossing over lab results — we’ll discuss results in great detail because we want you to truly understand what the data is saying. This appointment will focus on bringing these long sought-after root-causes to the surface. We’re going to talk about what lifestyle habits may have led to or contributed to these root-causes, and how to change or add new ones in in order to prevent recurrence. You’ll leave this appointment with a treatment plan in place and feeling confident in your own ability to heal from the inside-out.

04 Alignment

Over the course of working together, we will be healing your gut, rebalancing hormones, reducing inflammation, optimizing mitochondrial health and detoxification, improving sleep, mood, stress, and so much more. Functional medicine sometimes involves using supplements and/or medications, usually short term, to more quickly create a shift toward health and providing extra support when required. If any lab markers or additional testing would be beneficial to retest later on to assess treatment progress, we’ll incorporate those into your follow-up appointments. One of our biggest goals when working with patients is to provide education. Our work together will equip you with the strategies and tools you need for sustained, long-term health.
